Who we are
The Amsterdam Startup Lab (ASL) is a group of entrepreneurship researchers at the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam. We study startups: the people who start and join them, the processes by which they grow or stall, and the environments they work in.
Our mission
We answer real questions about startups with real evidence. We choose those questions together with founders, startup employees, investors and policymakers, so that they matter in practice and advance science. We share what we find with our partners.
Work with us
Who should we hire next? What do investors really look for? Why are we growing slower than planned?
Part of the answer to questions like these may be in data you already collect. Analysing it takes time and expertise that a growing company may not have. That is where we come in.
How it works:
- You bring the question and the data.
- We help you frame the question so that research can answer it. Then we design a rigorous study, built on theory and sound methods.
- You get answers you can act on. We get research worth publishing.
